Split Image Portrait

  • Students take a photo of themselves, cut it in half down the middle and then create their own version of themselves on the other side. This can be done by drawing, using photos, images, or text. Students can be strategic in what information about themselves they share where on the portrait.

  • Students are able to utilize project-based learning by creating split image portraits. Students are able to have self-discovery as they find what makes them unique. Students are able to have tolerance for others and show kindness to all as they create and share.

    • Great icebreaker for students to use especially at the beginning of the year.

    • It utilizes the Know, Tell, Listen and Do method for students to share their stories.

    • Creates community and understanding of others.
